Looks Nice Hank.
Are going to restore the other tractor. I got a call from a fellow in wisconsin with a green brillion. I sent him the information. He got my name from my wanted ad in lawn &Garden tractor magazine.
thanks brillionman
Somewhere down the line, I talked to Gary he said he will sell me a frame but I would have to repop the hood and dash shouldn't be to hard. I talked to Ed also, I think his is a Lantz built paper decal and a 63

No Jason, mine is lighter more of a champagne color I liked it better than bronze

Those are all some very nice machines. Approx 10-11 years ago, I had a Explorer as well as s Cadet 55. I got rid of them shortly after having our first child and I have regretted seeing them leave the driveway nearly every day. I would love to have them back; perfect size for play and parade.

Is anyone remaking the decals for either model of these? Or were the decals saved on the pictured restored machines? Thank you

Hi Russ, I got the decals from a guy in Branford Ohio Richard Bashor his phone number is (937) 564 1756 who knows someone in Texas who made them, he never said who it was and it took me 3 months to get them from him. They are very good quality and I paid 50. 00 which I thought was a good price good luck please let me know how you make out. Also the reverse disk can be bought on Ebay for 25.00 it is a Troy built fiber disk it needs to be put on a lathe and brought to a point in the center leaving about an eighth inch to fit the groove, it worked on mine good luck Hank.

Thanks for info. I agree the decal price is a good deal. Time to get moving on it!

Ok, time to share.
Dug this out of the shed before the snow began to fall and put it in the garage in hopes of finishing it up this winter. This is how far I got about 10 years ago when I started the restoration. The paint is a 1963 Pontiac color which exactly matched a small flake I was able to find underneath the tractor. It's a little scratched from the two moves since the paint - but not too bad. A little touch up and it should be golden. The lighter color is Cub Cadet white. I didn't have a place to get the exact color and talking with a former employee of Brillion Iron Works I learned it was originally off-white. I realize that could mean anything, but I liked this combination pretty good.

Since Hank helped me with decals, the challenges that remain are: 1) figuring out what kind of connector ties the exhaust port on the engine to the muffler under the tractor. I have the flex pipe like was used on the old Maytag gas powered wash machines but I don't know how to get from the threaded pipe on the engine and the muffler to the flex pipe. And 2) remembering how to put it back together.

Keep you posted on progress. And thanks for any tips!

No, they were actually made by Brillion Iron Works from 1959 until 1963 when they sold the plans and machinery to a company in Ohio who scrapped it. Brillion bought the tractor from Garden-All. Brillion was a maker of farm machinery and a foundry and were in business until a couple years ago when they were bought out and shut down. Interestingly, Ariens is building a new facility on the old Brillion site.
