I’ve heard of guys using GTs and box store machines as butt buggy’s for ice fishing...

And at that moment a lightbulb went off... kinda to the tune of “duck it I’ll giver a try” because it’s combine 2 of my hobbies

How would you guys set up your average box store mower for ice fishing? If anyone’s ever build a post hole auger for a gt I wanna hear about that too

I’m thinking something along the lines of the suicide mower, so pulley swap, atv tires, governor delete...

I’d have a hard time traversing any lake around here with my tractor. When was out two weeks ago, I wish thinking new tires on the atv are in order. It’s slushy crusty going around here.

Be a pretty cool idea.

I've only ice fished on small lakes. Couple minute walk and youd be where you needed to be to fish. We had a little sled with our gear in it.

Seems like the cheap box store tractors would work good. Just changing the pulley ratio would take care of any fishing boredom. You wouldn't have to worry about climbing just traction but not too much of that so you can drift. Sounds interesting.

No way I get on ice period! The drifting does look like fun though. But if I were to do that, I'd have a long 2x4 mounted on the front and back of my machine just in case!

Was 6” ice on a local lake November 22. Gotta be 30” by now
