Workin' on the Old Tractors

I'm starting to think about the tractor show that starts on July 30th this year. Minneapolis Moline is the featured tractor so I am going to try to take a couple over. Need to paint a pair of front wheels for one and paint a gas tank for the other. Might take some other tractor also but yet to be determined.

Between mowing and tedding today I pulled out the already epoxy primed front wheels for the MM ZTU and got them cleaned up and sanded. I have some paint for them if its still good and bought some hardener so the next chance I get I will get them painted. Then I need to come up with some tires and tubes. I have a couple tractors to steal some from. Last pic is the tractor with one front wheel borrowed from the MM RTU.

Thanks DAC. Its about time I got them done. I just have to laugh sometimes at how long things drag on for me. I looked at the old pics prepping these wheels and the date was October 2013. I was thinking it was no more than 5 years ago.
Although I am nowhere near as productive as you are CJet, I feel the same way! I've got stuff sitting here I started working on over 20 years ago! Seems like 5. Until I pick up where I left off---LOL! Then it seems like forever.

A friend and fellow Conservation Officer ran for Governor one year. Had a bunch of the round toit tokens made up as that is what the present gov. was famous for doing, waiting till he got around to it, basically nothing.

Pulled the front wheels off of my Farmall H project. The tires have cracks but should work long enough for the tractor show. These are 2 Unico 5.50 x 16's. Got the tires demounted. I'll get them cleaned up and ready to mount on the ZTU wheels.

I was thinking that too! It might do them in dismounting, much less mounting again, Rog! CJet has the touch to git er done!

And I'm cheap. ;) You can get away with a lot when you have tubes. I think I have only had one bead failure but I have had the whole sidewalls shred on otherwise good looking tires. Most of those have been the rear tires.

Mounted the tires and washed them up. The tires must have been on a John Deere at one time because they had yellow overspray all over them. Hopefully these will last for a while or at least through the 4 days of the tractor show.
