I picked this up yesterday from a friend. He doesn’t know much about it, it was in the basement of the house he acquired after his uncle passed away. Said it was probably about 15 years since it was used, maybe more. He doesn’t remember ever seeing it run. I asked if he would take $50. He said no, but he would take $20. It is in really nice shape, doesn’t look like it was used very much. It has a 5 hp Briggs and Stratton on it. It will need the carburetor and gas tank cleaned, but I poured a little fresh gas in the carb and it did start. At first I thought the motor was locked up, but I looked closer and there was just a branch stuck between the blades. I did wash it, these pictures are from before. I’ll get more tonight.

Thanks guys, I’ll get the foam out.

I cleaned the carburetor and got it running tonight. It sounds good. It needs a new air filter and an oil change before I use it. Based on the engine date code, it was made in 1989. Here’s a few more pictures.

Thanks Doug. Yes, I still have it and it’s still working great. I just used it 2 weeks ago to make some mulch.

I had a chipper/ shredder like that Nick. A little odd when you start them as they're carrying all the weight of the cutting flywheel along with it. Surprisingly makes them a little easier to start as they keep carrying momentum.
What I liked most the shoot that drops down to rake leaves into it
