Tractor comes home for a refresh.

Got body fill on yesterday before all the other problem started. So while waiting for the primer/sealer to dry, I figured I’d start sanding the body fill. So far so good. Long way to go yet thou.

I have very limited experience with body work Noel, but in your pics it looks like it's sanding or coming up in little globs. I agree with Kenny. Sometimes its not just cure time though Noel, if it's 2 part REALLY mix you're hardener in. Good luck, And by the way...who are you trying to kid, you've already been to the funny farm & are on a return trip lol.

Here’s where I’m at now. That primer/sealer is a great primer filler. Nice and thick and easy to sand off. So I think I have the top ready. Still have to smooth the bodyfill parts yet. Hope to be ready for paint on Tuesday. Suppose to be 25C and sunny. So it will be painted outside hopefully. Still not sure if it’s gunna lift/wrinkle, so that’s why I’m doing it outside. Get the bonnet warm. I’m gunna try and paint the inside of the bonnet before Monday. Right now I’m thinking that will be done with a brush.

Looks better there Noel, Get yourself a couple of the 4" wide white sponge rollers from the dollar store for the inside of the bonnet, it'll lay down nicer than brush strokes. Sometimes I'll brush it on & back roll it.

About all I can say is I think Kenny was right. Not cured well enough yet. You have been having a lot of rain and humidity. That slows drying time on everything, not to mention cool temperatures along with it. We are pullin' for ya Noel, and are here to try to help keep you out of the Funny Farm!

Little more done today. More runs. And I’m getting more annoyed, I guess. Any way, painted the inside of the hood and the black on the grill. The only thing that worked well today was the black. Used the spray can that I paint my hat with. Just don’t open the bonnet and look at the inside. I’ll tell people. Hehe.

Strange thing is, when I got the 1951 ferguson tractor , 6 or 7 years ago, I painted the new rear outside rims and the front used wheels. Used the same brand of paint I’m useing on the Case. Worked perfect. And they are still rust free and shining. No idea what I mixed with it. Any way, tuesday is the day to paint outside of bonnet. Will see how that goes.

To day is/was the day Gary. Turned out not to bad. Few bugs in it. But that’s the way it goes. And wouldn’t matter if you inside or out. Bugs get into it. Baked on finish today.

Was having trouble with the spray gun for the first coats. One hole was plugged. Took a couple of try’s to clear it. Then it sprayed good. Ended up with five coats I think. The picture shows it spraying good. Only paint on one side when it was pluged. Any way. Gun all cleaned up and paint is on. The repair on the hole that was cut out, turned out pretty good.
