Doug, you could also move the spring on the other end, also your throttle cable.

Snow drifts at my sons place.

Makes me glad this monster has power steering.

Doug, as far as I know, any Kohler engine painted flat gray is a replacement engine, at least in JD machines. My 314 has one.

    Pep talk with tractors !

Two things with the JD blower, either get a tall chute (there's a Ariens snow blower one thats a direct fit), or a round chute off a older JD blower. Another thing is putting a smaller belt pulley or auger sprocket on it. The blower on my 316K has the older round chute and two less teeth on the...

    Case 446 out.

Four link chains and ag tires don't tend to mix well, on my ag tired machines I use two link chains.

    Weight for the John Deere

Yep, still at Blairstown. And for Doug, I got over twenty years off and on operating heavy equipment, so I got a few skill's up my sleeves.

    Weight for the John Deere

A little history on me, I've been a green and yellow fanatic pretty much since I could walk. As a kid I had JD 1/16 scale farm toys, and my dad worked on a dairy farm that ran a A, 620, and 630. As I got older I went from 1/16 scale toys to 1/64 ( cheaper and they take up less room!) Got my...

    Screwdriver flashlight.

That wouldn't be a once a year conference dealing with water, would it Doug? I attended one in Pierre when I worked for the water dept. Basically walked around for three days listening to seminars, seeing what vendors had, and munching food off and on. There was some awards ceremony at the end.

The gaskets may be a update or upgrade Doug.

    Weight for the John Deere

Shouldn't be too hard, there's four or six holes in the rear frame. The Brinly hitch, rototiller and rear weight bracket use two bolts with spacers in the bottom two holes (one each side) and use's spring pins to lock into the top two holes

Wow Doug, never seen a fuel pump that corroded. A few tools I used is (1) a small but strong pick tool, (2) small flat tip screw driver, (3) needle nose vice grips. You can try using the pick tool and flat tip to work around the valve seating area (VERY carefully!). Use the needle nose vice...

Working on parting out the Ariens GT's

If your talking about the rear with the cast in lower three point arm mounts, then it would be the 400, that's the only model that has them.

    John Deere X570 Review

Everything under the 5's and 7's are pretty much lawnmowers, although the mid to high 3's aren't too bad for light general plowing and hauling.

    John Deere X570 Review

The X5's are a pretty decent series, I haven't had to do any major repairs on any at work, just the yearly services and some hood replacements.
