What are you currently working on??

Working on way too much. Then yesterday after getting soaked in a downpour when pumping 425 gallons of waste oil, drove home got out of truck to what smelled like burning electric wire. Then grandson Hunter pointed at front passenger wheel and said "it's coming from that wheel "! Sticking...

It was, but man was it liberating when we quit. But actually quite sad and sobering for a long time.

    And more junk.

All my life when we dairy farmed, we hardly ever had good profitable years, maybe one or two out of every 10 years. So unfortunately we had to survive on credit. Mostly used the cards when a major house appliance died. Back then those card companies made lots of interest off us, and I have a...

Finally scored my number 1 wanted implement-FEL

And on my home built loader that Josh own now, I used a pump off a Case Hydrive. I believe it's around 11 gpm, and pullied it down about 1:1.5, so a 7gpm is sufficient for a small loader. Likely 6gpm would be plenty for those smaller cylinders as mine had a good 3" of cylinder area.

So glad for you Marty! And now once you get it going you have no excuses if you hurt your back lifting stuff! Unless the stuff is inside your house...but then you can always put in an extra wide door!

My well played out years ago, so had to get on city water. Not having to use city sewer keeps my bill low.

I like it! Plenty of storage, plus I wouldn't have to scoot my coffee table closer to recliner to actually use it.

What did you do with your tractor today?

Wish I could mow! Been too wet to mow now for over a week and grass is crazy wooly. And even when I mowed several days ago grass was so wet the deck was sending out mist with the grass. Deck had to be cleaned afterwards as it was clogged with wet grass. Needed cleaned during mowing!

    Hydraulic linkage not moving

I noticed from another post that one Satoh tractor does use 80w oil for it's transmission, BUT it has a small separate oil supply for the hydraulic system and uses 10w to 20w for it. Typically a transmission without a consolidated hydraulic system does not have a filter. So I'm thinking when...

    Hydraulic linkage not moving

80/90 gear oil is NOT for a hydraulic/transmission system....way too thick! You need hytran fluid. You must dump all that 80/90 oil which will drain slow, so allow 24hrs to drain it well. Use clean original containers so you might be able to use it appropriately.

    Grass seed

Years ago I bought a power seeder at a Brinly research shop surplus auction in Indiana just across the river from Louisville KY. Was missing the blades shaft but adapted one from another make. Never used it in the over 15+ years I've had it, but intend to soon, as a big patch in my yard is...

    Workin' on the Old Tractors

Dad could fire that V4 by hand in an instant if the battery was low, or starter acting up, but Dad had brute strength! He kept that engine tuned so good that I never seen him have any trouble firing it up. I rode that MF50 right side fender from 4yrs old on. Before my days his balers had twin...
