1970 John Deere 140H3 Transmission fluid question

Manual says it's suppose to take Type F transmission fluid. What is the equivalent in today's transmission fluid ?

Type F is still made today.

With a complete flush, you can switch it out for JD low viscosity hy-guard. (J20D)

You can get type F by the quart at Canadian Tire. We had to replace the hydro drive fluid in our New Holland forage harvester and that's what it took. You can only get it in quarts, this was last spring so I'm sure the stock of quart containers in the maritimes region has been replenished by now lol

I believe you can still get it...I recall the C4 in my '78 F-150 using that.

Google tells me supertech(Walmart) and Mobil make it.
