Seen this a few days ago. Carol only took a few pics the guy didn’t look too friendly lol. The sad thing about this car was all the weathering was fake even the pin holes were paint dots. We later seen it parked in town but the humongous driver was standing by it. I done a walk by to satisfy my own curiosity. lol

Yeah with all the rain you folks are getting in Kentucky maybe the surf IS up somewhere! Some of those big tattooed "bad@$$e$" are the kindest folks you ever will meet. Nice car, stance tires and wheels are done tastefully. Far as fake patina goes, it is usually easily removable. Guess if someone has a straight, rust free car and puts the fake patina on it that's better than having a real pile rust bucket like I have---LOL!

Thanks for the pics, Jim and Carol!

Back about 1970 I had a 1957 Chevy two door wagon. Bought it from a guy who used it to tow his 1957 Belair drag car.
SBC, 3speed with Hurst floor shifter. I added bucket seats and center console from a 1964 Ford Fairlane 500 Sport Coupe that I had rolled. (Wish I had that one back).
The 57 had original patina and I ended up patching the floorboards.

It’s funny you mentioned a wagon for a tow car. I’ve recently got back into model car building and some of the guys on the FB group had no idea that’s what was used back then. When I was a kid I had a lot of wagons and trailers set up to haul my builds. They make good gasser builds too.

I dig the long roofs, but that '64 Fairlane would have really been cool. Rick! I like that era of Fords real well. Too bad you tipped it over!

I remember seeing lots of pics of guys pulling drag cars with station wagons, Jim. Could keep tools out of the elements and lock them up. Seems like from what I remember of my young days at the stock car track, most guys were using pickups in the 1960's, but a lot of towbars. Even the first car I was on a pit crew for in '77 we used a towbar. I was too young to be in the pits during my employment with a racing shop '73-'75.

When I was born ('56) we were living in a 32' Vagabond travel trailer and Dad pulled it from job to job with a 6 cyl. 1955 Chevy 4 door wagon. My two older sisters, mom and dad and a cat put a lot of miles in that thing.

I remember when you rolled that. Seen it in my rear-view mirror and then sister Pat was screaming in my ear. lol.
