A couple of superior potato plants are out of the ground an inch or so. 12 days since planted. Now the Beepin bugs start.
I need Chris’s, Cvans, address so I can bag up a bunch and send them to him.

I think I am still winning the war here. Yesterday, I saw a few smaller brown beetles, no stripes. Will try and get a pic today. I figure they are babies. They got squished.

Don’t relax yet Harry. Those Potato bugs are hungry. They want to be adults. They are the ones that eat more than the adults.
Your gunna have a nice crop of potatoes there.

I have a few of those running around too, drives the dog nuts.

2 years ago the put all the ground on 3 side of us into CRP and the rabbit population exploded. Dog chases them but only caught 3 of the young dumb ones so far. Going to fence off the rest of one part of the garden in the morning.

Electric fence about 3 inches off the ground should do it.

Was out cultivating the weeds with LGT100 in the potato patch. Some plants up 3 to 4 inches. But just a few. Others are about 1 inch or so. So I can see I’ll have a few potatoes out of this years planting.

We have been darn lucky. The only bug I can remember having problems with took a liking to the raspberries. After a couple years fighting them we got rid of the berries. Too bad because I really really like raspberry jam.
