Adapting a JD 46" plow to the Country Squire

I was getting snow removal attachments from my storage area when I came across this 46" John Deere snowplow that I had adapted to use on one of the Sears Suburban's I have, so I'm going to adapt it to use with the Country Squire. This is a nice plow it has a control to manually angle the blade from the tractor seat and as I remember it did a nice job of plowing. The first picture is the snow pusher I've used the last couple of years, the frame is the OEM for the mid 50's to about mid 60's

Got the plow on this afternoon it lifts it angles but I need to lengthen the angle control rod which I'll do tomorrow then its to put the chains on and it should just about be ready

Nice work, Gary. Looks like it will work well. It's inevitable we get the s-word up this way, but you can have it if I had a choice---LOL! I still need to come up with a way to angle the blade on the MF8E.

Chains are installed did a short test drive in the shop to see how the blade angle control worked it worked good but I'm going to lower the control rod some

How much wheel weight do you have on it?

Gary a Simplicity plow would probably work on the tractor you had the deck on and wouldn't stick out as far.

I can't remember off hand I'll look next time I'm in the shop but I think its about 40 lbs per side, tires are ballast with windshield washer fluid about 9 gal per tire, also have 40 lbs on the draw bar that helps to counter the blade wt also

Gary a Simplicity plow would probably work on the tractor you had the deck on and wouldn't stick out as far.

Your most likely right Rad but I don't have a Simplicity plow blade

Had the Country Squire out and plowed snow for a half hour, the blade did ok but it hard to operate the angling mechanism and of coure there was lots of slippage so I'm going to put the pusher back on I like it better
