Once you get the first row straight, will your tire just follow the furrow from then on?

I've plowed a lot and understand the first farrow will make or break you but it's that first one that I could never get that straight. Even on larger tractors. Some guys head off across a field diagonally and it looks like they are following a guide wire. Not me. I'm a little better than doing it with my eyes shut.
