I picked up this 1810 today. It belonged to a friend who has had lots of Cubs over the years, this was his last one. I got my 125 and 2nd 149 from him also. He’s getting older and doesn’t cut grass anymore, his neighbor acquired that job and his tractors. The neighbor bought a new Cub XT2 last year and didn’t need or want this one anymore. It’s in nice shape and runs great. I put a new fuel pump on it last spring, and I don’t think it has been used much since then. My dad almost bought this tractor years ago. It was originally owned by the little league field near his shop. I will get more pictures tomorrow. It didn’t rain all day until I went to pick this up. As soon as I pulled in his driveway it started pouring. Since the battery was dead, we had to push it on the trailer. I was soaked. I think I need a bigger trailer too. The 50” deck was touching on both sides.

More pictures as promised. It has 1054 hours on it. I know this is not the original engine, so I don’t know how many on that. I mowed for a couple minutes with it last night. This may be the nicest tractor I have. The only thing I don’t like is that the PTO shuts off when you go into reverse. At first I thought there was a problem, then I realized it was a “safety feature”. That will have to be dealt with since in 10 minutes, I counted about 15 times that I had to back up. To me that’s just unnecessary wear on the PTO.

Nice tractor, I would love to have thar style nose in my collection someday.
We all know how to "fix" the backup issue. My Huskee GT had it but it appears someone "fixed" it before I got it.

I have a SM for that, but too big to upload here. Got it from the Cub forum. Here's a screenshot of the wiring:

Thanks Kenny. I think I already have a service manual for it. When I got the 149 from this guy, he gave me a pile of manuals, including some for this. I know there was an owners manual and brochures, I think there was a SM too.

You won’t be sorry. I never thought I would like these “newer” tractors as much, but now after having a few, I wish I had one sooner. I still love the older IH ones, but these are definitely nicer to use.
