Boiled Linseed Oil Application

I've never used boiled linseed oil but a lot of tung oil on wood projects. They do look a lot brighter & a more protected original look.

On wood, I use a mix of equal parts mineral spirits, linseed oil and spar varnish for extra protection. It's applied just like Minwax. I wonder what that would do on metal.
