Bolens 1477

As posted on the other forum, I got this Bolens 1477. an unfinished refurb. I plan to put it back together but only have part of the Wisconsin engine. I do have a nice k341 on the shelf awaiting a chassis. Anyone done this repower? I'm missing some engine mount plates which will make it hard to figure out the crank height. I also need the PTO pulley for the engine. Any help is appreciated.

Also would love to find a 3 point or maybe some plans to build one.

I have a 1477 also......will try in the morning to get a measurement.....Since it uses a drive shaft with "U" joint to transmit the power, close should be good enough. Also, I don't think it would be too hard to adjust the height between the frame rails.

My main concern for the height is due to the pto side if things. I'd like to retain the original belt size. Thanks again.

As you can see, the engine sits quite low in the frame. I put a straight edge on the frame and measured to what looked like the center of the crankshaft (red arrow).....It is 5/8 of an inch. I just replaced the 3 belts, they are A30....32" long

I had another thought on this. Since you want to use a Kohler, a lot of them came with an electric clutch on the front. Might want to use one of those.

I had thought of using an electric clutch but would be hard pressed to find one with a triple pulley. Thanks for the pics. They'll help a bunch. Been pretty busy lately but will check back in once I get started.
