I bought this tractor last year & noticed a little slippage in reverse. Upon checking the belt adjustment I noticed the belt was worn & the idler wheel was rubbing the top of the frame. I ordered the belt over the winter & went to install yesterday & noticed the old belt was 1/2" wide & the replacement was 5/8" wide. Once I installed the new belt & tried several adjustments the new belt was never loose enough to prevent turning. Both belts are the same length. I put the old belt back on & adjusted the idler down slightly to clear the frame. It's mobile now but there's too much slack in the belt. I'm thinking two options. 1. Would be a 1/2" belt but shorter. 2. Would be a 5/8" belt longer. I like the idea of a 5/8" belt since it's the main drive & seems like the 5/8" is the replacement. Any ideas or experience with this problem.
