Just got a qt 16 with a repower of a b&s 23hp vanguard. First time I mowed the grass I heard a grinding noise fron under the tractor,,then it stopped moving,,horror,,,looked under and saw that the drive shaft wasn't moving. Upon further investigation I found that the shaft was too long and the key had come out. Does anyone know how much to shorten the shaft to fix this problem?

It's hard to find specs on a repower unless someone has done the same swap. I found out some of the drivetrain shops can help at a reasonable cost.

Thanks for getting back to me. Been finding the same as you told me,guess I will have to measure twice and cut once,,lol
