Upon @MFDAC ’s request, I figured I would post about a semi local fair to me this year. The Brooklyn Fair in Brooklyn CT. The fair is this weekend August 22nd to the 25th, and it is about an hour and 20 minutes from me. Its the 2nd year I’ve been to it. I posted a few pictures from last year in my Murray tractor post, but I figured I would start a new post with this years pictures. They are going to have tractor pulls, lawnmower races, and the tractor show there. Here is the fairs website, and facebook page….

Hi Everybody,

We went to the fair on Sunday. We got there at 2 and left at 6:15, it was a nice day. Sunny, hot, and humid. Not only did we bring our tractors but we brought some photography to put in the building display. We got to the fair to watch the lawnmower races but when we got there, we got there too late. We got there so late we saw the last 2 go half around the dirt track. Oh well, but I got some pictures of the rest of the mowers because the pits were open to the public after the races were over. I talked with the owner of the black “Ban One” license plate mower, and he said they can go 25 to 45 miles an hour when they race. They are original lawn mowers with frames and sheet metal from the mowers, but have some parts from go karts and snowblowers. He said the race group goes all over to the fairs around Connecticut and Massachusetts, and the fairs pay them to put on a show so they can pay their insurance and other expenses. Moving onto my other couple pictures. Although the truck ain’t nothin really to look at; the first picture is of a dealer display that was well thought of, very nicely done, and before you walked in the gate. The 2nd picture is when you first walk in the gate….

Then we went to watch the tractor pull for awhile after we found out the lawnmower races were over. On the way over, there was an animal building so those are my first 2 pictures. The 3rd picture is of a short horse ride by a local farm…..

If I was 25 or 30 years younger, my old go-kart track in the back yard would be a tractor racetrack---LOL! Karts got too hard on the body a long time ago but mine is still hanging on the wall in my shop!

I’m back with some more pictures for you Dac (and everyone else.) Lets start off with new pictures of the tractor show area, there was definitely ALOT more tractors there than when we first dropped ours off that past Tuesday….

A few more machinery pictures including a Model T Ford, a big Cat 60 crawler, a couple Mack pick up trucks, and a couple John Deeres….

A little further down from the red barn in the last pictures, was the local car club displaying a couple of their cars. They do this every year….

And yes they did have Christmas trees on display believe it or not, with prizes going to a few of them….







Moving away from the machinery, we walked around a little more and went to see some animals. The first picture is of where the lawnmower races were at the beginning of the day, the pig and piglets were a little bit further up from where the lawnmower races were outside the building I originally posted about in post 4, and the cows were in the building next to the other building….

Well, the fairs over. Time to load up and go home.….

We made it home without any problems, but when we got home and unloaded it was dark. Oh well….
