Can someone tell me what this lever

Is for, in front of the seat, on a MF 8 Hydro.

If I remember correct pushing it forward will release the tension on the drive belt to the hydro. On mine someone added a hook to be able to hold it forward. It helps when starting the mower also to release the belt tension.

Thanks Ted, Noel had me wondering too! I only ever have seen one MF8 and it had been smashed up pretty bad by a bulldozer. I was able to get a good hood latch knob off of it and it fit my MF12G!

I had to go out and look at mine, i have not used the tractor for 2 years. It is parked in a shed with the snow blower still attached.
