Carb to air cleaner spacer

Does anyone know of a spacer that goes between the carb and air cleaner for a kohler K series? The choke cable hits on the air cleaner base on my JD 214, not allowing it to stay all the way open. If I hold the choke in it runs great, but a soon as I let it go it sputters and runs rough.
Was thinking of making one out of wood since I can't find one on line.

Chaser depending on the brand and model Kohler built different backing plates for the air cleaners to put the air clean where it needed to be.
Sucked in tight to the engine or pushed out farther away from the engine and carb.
So you might keep your eyes open looking at different Kohler engines and check the backing plate for a better offset one for your engine.
For instance the backing plates on the Case / Ingersoll engines is offset wider set the air cleaner out farther to clear the hood as they set outside the hood on the Case and Ingersoll tractors. They also set outside the hood on the 300 and 400 series Allus Chalmers so the backing plate of the air cleaner is offset out further too.
Just a couple of examples but look around at scrap and non running K series engines for a air cleaner backing plate that suits the offset that you need.
