Case 446 out.

Well had it out in the snow today. Frozen bank with last storms snow blowen on top. Just taking little bites and it did the job. Was having trouble with the chains falling in between the lugs and just spining on the ice. So bought some chain and added to the original chain. No movement into the lugs now. Four other garden tractors with ags and chains, and never had trouble with the chains falling in between the lugs.
Any way moved the Case 446 to the front of the line up, and will see what happens next storm.

Hi Noel that cross bar mod looks good and obviously its working if they do want to open a spot of weld would fix them, just came in from 45 min of blowing the yard out its -6*F but the long johns did the trick course I had several layers on my top and my bomber cap on. Tomorrow its suppose to be 26*F will probably run around in short sleeves

Looks like the chain modification works like a charm, Noel!

EDIT---I did it again! Typed a reply but forgot to hit the "Post reply button"! It wasn't because of oldtimers disease this time though. That dang on call phone rang and when I got back home I just shut the computer down!

I've been thinking about buying a bunch of crosslinks to modify a brand new set of automotive chains I have had laying around here for a long time. The crosslinks are too far apart on the automotive set but are the same width. On turf tires here of course.

It’s keeping the original chain out of falling in between the lugs Doug. Which is what I wanted. And added some traction. Smoother ride too.
I forget to hit the post button too. And I’m not on call. Very thankfully.
You should start counting how many more times on call till retirement Doug. Won’t seem as long that way. Hehe.

Yeah looks like that chain was the right size to fit into the lugs perfectly! The mod you did sure solved that!

I don't know if I have the desire or mental stamina to figure the "on call" until I retire! Since I'm in denial about how long it it I'm just gonna say "3 more on calls" to myself over and over until it is actually 3 more on calls---LOL! I always say it but it is fortunate that I don't have to deal with customers. Dealing with the plant management sucks but customers are worse. I was self employed for a long time. Some customers just can't be pleased.
