Cloning a trailer ramp

A friend found a trailer ramp hitchhiking. Took him some time, but he gave it to me. I spent most of yesterday scavenging up some material to make it's mate. Couldn't find any 2X2X1/4, but did find some 2x1-1/2X1/4. cut all the cross angles and got ready for welding. Used the Lincoln and 3/32" 6013 rod. Went together rather well.


I didn't have a long enough piece for the one side so I welded in a chunk of 2X2 to make up for that.


Trimmed the corners of the cross pieces.


And the finished product!

After building the ramp, I found two long pieces of 2X2X1/4" buried under a bunch of junk! Go figure!

Destination is unknown, but it went elsewhere. It's lounging in my yard right now!

I built 3 aluminum ramps for my horse trailer a few years ago, I had a 3 wheel JD F525 at the time.... not sure how much weight they could really stand but I have driven my Cub Loboy on them on several occasions
