found my answer: My google foo was off last night.
Is J-B Weld resistant to water and/or gasoline?
When fully cured, J-B Weld is completely resistant to water, gasoline, and about every other petroleum product or automotive chemical. For wet-surface or submerged water or gasoline repairs, try our SteelStik or WaterWeld.
Main things with JB Weld is to get both surfaces absolutely clean. Use denatured alcohol, etc to clean and then don't touch. Let it cure for a couple days just to be sure.
Wasn't going to take it apart, but glad I did. It was a touch dirty inside. I used the JB weld, but not sure how much actually got into the part that needed to be reattached. I tried to take it out this morning, but it was pretty tight. Now to clean it all and put back together and test.
Did you get the 2 small springs installed correctly under the diaphragm?
Is the diaphragm flexible and not hard?
is the little vent hole clear, and the copper filter free?
Took it apart again just now. I think I have everything in proper order. The copper filter moves freely. Everything has been carb cleaned and air blown. He are pics of it apart with order of gaskets.
Well, after a few tries at disassembling and reassembling with no luck I reverted to the aftermarket pump. Just doesn't want to pump. I am sure I need a full gasket replacement set, just don't want to spend the cash on it. Thank you guys again for help!
