Was on a Sears site and someone referred to their Tractor as a Mongrel.
A younger person asked what that meant.
I replied. Thought I'd share.
Mongrel Machine (noun)
Refers to a Unit made from parts from several different brands or at least many years of the same brand.
Also know as 'Mutt', 'Heinz 57', 'WTH???', and ' 'Reminds me of that Johnny Cash song about the Cadillacs'.
Some Homebrew/Mongrel units exist and they have the special designation of Rat Rod.
Note. These units can be similar in appearance to: POS, Future Brake Rotors, and Craigslist Gold. They differ in the fact that they are functional units that run most of the time, usually aren't for sale, and hold a sentimental place with it's owners. The latter is usually denoted by a playfully derogatory nickname coupled with the smile showing while driving it.
