Dolmar Weed Eater repair

Went to use our Dolmar MS-261-C weed eater a couple days ago and found the throttle lever wasn't working. I was able to start it just fine but the lever wasn't doing anything. Opened up the handle and had several pieces of plastic fall out that had broken off of the lever. Its built pretty flimsy and when I looked up a new one I found they are NLA. Not sure just how I will go about fixing it yet. One option might be trying the plastic welder or try to make something out of metal or some other material.

That would be a way to do it but I wouldn't know where to start.

That’s my problem. When my son gets to middle school in 2 years they have an engineering type class. They do 3D printing and learn basics of designing in solidworks and such. It’s pretty neat. Part of that is robotics and they build battle bots and take them to a competition if they want to!

I wish they offered stuff like that when I was in school. I probably wouldn’t have hated school as much as I did!

All I had was a bunch of old ladies that were meaner than a junk yard dog yelling at me all day…I still remember my freshman year this teacher telling me I was never going to amount to anything because I said I wasn’t going to college!
