Found an Elec-Trak E12s for sale in Louisville Ky. Price was right (very right!!) So Edy and I made a trip to Louisville Ky. and back today. We left about 8:00 this morning and got home about 5:15 this evening. After 470.2 miles round trip and 27.712 gallons of gas and I brought home another project. I have an E14 model, and have been wanting a dozer blade and the front implement bracket to mount it with. They came with this tractor, along with the rear hitch adapter and mower deck. The guy had a box of misc. extras and some paperwork and manuals. The paperwork included the original purchase receipt. The original price in 1972 with mower deck was $1359.75. The dozer blade and hitch kit was an additional $90.42. The tractor is a little rough, but it and the other components are worth more than the purchase price and cost to go get it. I will check out the motors on the deck and the drive motor tomorrow. If they are functional as he said they were then I got a really good deal. I was told the controller was bad, but he kept pointing to the battery charger. If that is what is not functioning,( and if I am that lucky), it will be an easy fix.

Sweet.

I saw an electric Wheel horse at a show many years ago for sale. About a year later, I just happen to drive by some old family friend's house I hadn't seen in years. Got talking to him about garden tractors and mentioned the WH. He said it was his, he pulled all the batteries and scrapped the rest cause no one would buy it.

You are starting your own "New Green Deal", Rick---LOL! Those Elec-tracs are bad a$$ pullers, for sure! I watched several videos of DH1 pulling! It was very impressive to say the least. It sounds like the cut quality and other attachments work as good or better than the normal fossil fuel powered tractors too. It will be interesting to see your progress! Nice score!

I bought the whole package just to get the dozer blade and its mounting bracket. The purchase price and cost of gas were less than the going price of those two items. The rear accessory bracket and and a few other extras are icing on the cake!!! I've now got 6 batteries for trade in if needed.
The tractor has an electrical problem but is in good shape other than a big dent in the right rear fender. The battery boxes are not rotted out and the rest of the tins are straight. I may dig into this one and see if I keep it or not.

I'd say you did pretty good there, I see you got the Handle with the Blade, remote angle control.
The mower deck is from a New Idea tractor it is a Mid mount deck that has been converted to Front mount and that will work fine, both mid and front mount decks are similar, use the same main housing.
Tractor doesn't look to rusty, no holes in the sheet metal.
That's one to fix and use.
Good stuff

I removed the batteries, containment bags and the battery trays. The battery compartments are in very good shape for being 50 years old. There has never been an acid leak in them. The underside of the hood still as an original decal.
I will place the other Elec-Trak next to it as a power source and try to trouble shoot what is wrong with it. I'll find the right schematic and go from there. I have a manual with some trouble shooting charts. I was able to fix the first one but that was 7 years ago and I've slept since then!!
