Fabricated and installed a step to ease getting on the 1620

My grandfather had a hard with his one tractor as you had to almost swing your leg over the steering wheel to get on.

He sold it and bought a craftsman lawn tractor. Last him his last summer of grass cutting and maybe 2 summers after he was gone when it fell apart.

Not something I would want. Left foot on the step pad, right one overt the tunnel and sit down. Nothing hard about that - yet. Guess 78 don't qualify for old yet. Sounds goo to me ! ! !

Well ease of getting on and off also includes preventing the steering column from being damaged from repeated grabbing and pulling oneself up on the tractor this tractor has a ground clearance of 15.75" the step is several 2 higher that's a tall step up I can't do it with out grabbing and pulling on something and that being the steering wheel now on my Suburbans and GT500 there is no need for a step and I do just as posted foot on the foot pad and swing the right leg over and your on the seat here's a picture of the repair and brace I fabricated for the 1984 tractor steering column that is cracked were the tube goes into the gearbox

Thats a very nice step. I've had a few power king tractors. A mans tractor for sure and with that being said, Not user friendly when trying to get on or sometimes off the tractor. My Kubota B6000 is just about as easy. I can appreciate the step you made. And also what a great PK you have. I would like to get a plastic hydro tractor myself someday.
