Fabricating a 3 PT hitch adapter

The factory sold an adapter that bolted to the lift draw bar on the Power Kings that allowed you to hitch up 3 pt attachments it wasn't the handiest thing but it did work. I thought I'd build one just for the fun of it, got the material cut holes drilled that lift arms bent and the ball joint welded on just have to weld the lift arms to the adapter plate.

Got the welding completed this morning now its to paint it when I get a chance, am also looking into a modification the 29Chev suggested if I do that the painting will wait till after that's done

Did a temporary install of the adapter this afternoon looks ok needs some minor tweaks also including a picture of the idea 29chev had to allow the arm to rotate so the attachment can be hitched without removing the lift pin, I think I'll do the mod in the morning

This afternoon I did the modification that 29Chev suggested and I think its going to work good tomorrow I'l put some finishing touches on it and see how it comes out

Completed a couple of modifications and the 3 pt adapter is done except for the painting which I'll do next week
Change 1" discarded the rectangular stop as I decided it wasn't needed
Change 1A welded a 1/2" X 1/2" X 2' piece to the RH base plate and then welded the hinge top to the RH base assy

Removed the tire chains and snow pusher and draw bar wt installed the 3 pt hitch adapter when it dries more out I'm going to see if the CS can handle the 5' landscape rake

Installed the 3 pt hitch adapter I fabricated a few weeks ago and hitched up the 60" 3pt landscape rake, it worked slick and was as easy if not easier then hitch up to a regular 3 pt, did some raking and that went well only minor problem was its hard for my Old arm to lift with the manual lift assy but I added a second assist spring and will give it a test tomorrow I like it glad I made it now

Installed a second lift assist spring and that did the job no problem lifting the rake now was out and spent about 20 minutes playing with it this morning the painted spring is the original the rusty one is what I added

That is so true, and its amazing how much the tractor speeds up when you want lift the rake and its fighting you and then once its up the tractor seems to slow down again

That happens to me when I'm driving a hand clutch tractor and my brain is on a foot clutch tractor.
