favorite homemade attachment

That’s a great looking tool Shane.
My favorite attachment is my homemade loader and the sort of 3 point hitch I made for my rear snow thrower.

I have made a few things.....1st was a grader blade that fitted mid tractor. Didn't work so well, so I made it into a rear blade where I can put a bit more weight on it.

Then I made a tow behind mower out of a deck and engine. It worked OK, but I didn't really have much use for it.

I really needed something to mow up a hill in front of the house, so I threw this together.

I also built a bucket to go on the front of the tractor, works pretty good for moving dirt around

That's all I can think of at the moment

This is very useful as I have sleeve hitches on both Hulk and BOH. I have a 1-7/8 and 2" ball. Makes using the trailers easy.

My favorite was my front end loader. This pic was before I swapped it to a Massey 1655 with a yanmar diesel installed. I also switched to a tilt cylinder on each loader arm, as the single in the center didn't have enough tilt force for cleaning the calf stalls easily. I also have a bucket for other duties. Since ending a life of dairy farming, and buying my Kubota, it hasn't seen much action.

I read this topic yesterday thinking I had no homemade attachments, but I guess now I have one because I finished it today. Being my only homemade attachment, by elimination it is also my favourite. It’s a simple rear counterweight, I started building it for use on my Case 444 when plowing snow, thinking it would also be useful on my MF1650 if I ever found a plow for that. I ended up buying my 7020L now I think it’s just the thing for that. 6 steel plates 5/8” thick bolted together, welded 3pt brackets on one to mount to the tractor. Painted gloss black. Total weight 300lbs.

Here's a couple of mine....I seem to build them more than use them  ( The log arch uses wheels as well & the 3500lb winch on the heavy hitch is used on it as well with log tongs

Well after today I finally saw this thread and my favorite got a workout today! The hydraulic blade on my MF8E is mine! I've been using it 25+ years and it was on the tractor when I got it. Through the years I tweaked it but last spring I did some major changes to it. The geometry was always messed up and I couldn't angle the blade because of it. The blade was also rigid. It couldn't "float" and that created a lot of problems plowing snow and smoothing dirt and gravel. I corrected that but still need to figure out how to angle the blade while sitting on the tractor. One of these days!

I love the designs and functionality of the stuff you guys have built!

I am building another front scoop for my tractors right now.....Its coming along slowly, will probably take most of the winter to do it with the cold and an unheated shop.

Thanks Shane! The people on this site are true craftsmen for sure. I've learned a lot here and on GTT. When I first got that MF8E It was mainly for dirt work pulling a set of teeth that would tear up my go-kart track between weeks of racing. We raced every Sunday. No sleeve hitch or three point so that was still harder than it should have been but I didn't know any better. Used it to push snow, dirt and gravel best it could. Glad I kept it all these years until I started learning how to improve these little tractors!

I like how you are building a mock up out of wood Poncho! I'll follow along as that setup would be handy on one of my MF's too!

Made up a quick so-called jib crane? Can be used with my regular log tongs or these heavier ones. Showing here at about 3/4 height. I can use the lower receiver hitch as well. Just some 2 inch pipe I had from an oil tank that was removed and a 6 inch piece of 2” tubing so pretty much nothing but time and paint. Won’t lift a lot but should be able to drag small logs with it easy enough.
