I decided to go with a cast iron 16 hp Briggs with gear drive starter and a Magnatron ignition conversion that I had setting around.
Got the engine in and the driveshaft bolted up.
I pulled the 3 bolt carb and intake off that was on it and put a correct 4 bolt carb and intake on it.
I found that i didn't have a spare governor to carb throttle linkage piece so I made a "correct" one for it.
I also put the gas tank, brackets, and rubber straps in it from the 912.
I put a temporary exhaust on it for now. The outside piece for the cone clutch was missing from the 912 rear so I pulled the piece off the 712 rear. I need to grab a woodruff key because the one is gone from the 912 but the 710 had a straight key.
Still need to wire it and put a switch in it and give the tractor a good cleaning.
Making a little progress here and there as I have time. ( pay no attention to all the "parts" sitting around )
