First ploughing match in 3 years due to Covid and new tractor and new plough my practice is paying off

Usually the farmer ploughs the field again and then sows the seed
That's interesting her in Minnesota there is very little moldboard plowing done these days most farmer use what we call a chisel plow in the fall then in the spring they go over the field with a digger disc harrow combination implement and then seed what ever it is they are seeding

Haven't seen a moldboard plow in the field in years down here. After fall harvest, ground that will be corn next year may get anhydrous ammonia put in. Some ground is gone over with a soil conditioner but all the planting is no till any more. Sprayed to kill off everything, planted, sprayed a couple more time through the growing season and then harvested. Depending on the ground, it is gone over with a chisel plow every few years to keep from getting a hard pan a few inches down. usually the ammonia application tool bar takes care of that though.
