No, this is not a "how to make your pants fit better after turkey day" post

I have a flat belt to lace and I wanted to learn to do it the old fashioned way.
This is a little long, but it's detailed enough to get the point across the first time.

Wider belts require more holes.

 
When I needed one, I went to a harnessmaker, who installed wire loops (alligator clips) which were connected by a piece of rawhide. I guess I never noticed a noise.
 
Good job there MH81. I had a 1" diameter round belt the drove a side delivery rake, I think it was a JD. New belt we over $200. Watched a U-tube video on how to splice on so tried it. Held up for a couple haying seasons when I sold out.
