Fluid in the Back Tires

Sun came out this morning so it was time to fill the back tires of my mowing tractor with fluid. First one went good, removed the valve core, pushed the bead dow in one spot just far enough for a big screwdriver to hold a little gap open and poured 7 gallons of washer fluid in. Aired it up to 11 lbs and back on the tractor. Second one was a bi different as it had a tube. Removed the tube, put a tubeless valve stem in aired it up to see why a tube was put in. Found a bead leak. Easy fix with a bit of slime worked between the tire bead and the rim, aired it up to 12.5 lbs. Let sit for an hour and still had 12.4 lbs. Good to go as it looses that much just checking the pressure. Same procedure on this tire as the other one. Back on the tractor and ready to mow. Want to change the front center anti scalp roller on the deck as the axle hole is wore out real bad. Will grease up the axle good when the new one goes on. Additional 112 lbs of weight on the ground at the drive wheels should make a big difference. Will see.

Knocked all the mowing out in 2 hours this morning. Carolyn did the front around all the shrubs, bushes and flowers with the Cub 1018. I did the rest with a 1862. Tires full of fluid made a big difference. Had no traction problem at all, well worth the effort and cost. Now down to the garden to get some preen down as all the Onions are up and looking good. Little wet for tilling yet. Maybe Monday.

Replaced the tomato plants and egg plant that got bit by frost yesterday. Dry and crusty on top but real wet down an inch or more. Need to till the big part berfore I put the veining stuff in but talking more rain tonight. Neighbor finished up hi field next to me yesterday afternoon planting corn. Had dust behind the planter but the corn was going in wet ground. I might run over it with the rock rake this morning just to break the top up so it can get air and hope for the best.

I got what was left to work in mine tilled this morning. Till engine quit on the last round so just put it in the shed and got the BCS out and finished it. BCS did a much better job as the tines turn a lot faster. Then planted 2 hills each of Big Moon Pumpkins,Rattlesnake Watermelon, Acorn Squash, and Muskmelon. Need to find about 50 Sweet Potato plants yet. Sometimes they are hard to come by.

Well it will be a few days before I get to mine we had 2" of rain yesterday and storms a couple of tornado's about 20 miles East and high damaging winds just to the west about 7 miles lucky no damage here but we lost power for 7 hours, its wet the grass is growing like nuts so the garden will wait its turning green with weeds so maybe its ok I will till the heck out of them

I have sprayed the garden early spring to kill the weeds before tilling to plant. A good tiller that grinds things up works great also. I ordered Sweet Potato plants this morning from a place in Tenn. Never used them before but they have good ratings and lot of variety. Coming priority so should be here Friday I hope.
