Hi all well about a week ago I finished mowing the runway and went to back the 641 into the barn noticed a trail of oil in the dirt so I drove it back out looked under the tractor and could see hyd oil leaking at the trans differential case split got a couple of wrenchs and tightened the lower 3/4 bolts noticed the gasket was hanging down a bit so I loosened the bolts to see if I could push the gasket up in place wouldn't move so retightened the bolts added UFT and checked under the tractor the leak was just a slow drip drip so I figured I can live with that until fall then would run it into the shop split the tractor and replace the gasket and O rings lifted the mower and backed into the barn again this time there was lots of oil coming out so the 641 is out of commission and the good old 8N was called out of retirement to take over mowing duties

Thats an easy fix and does not require a tractor split! It is the pump manifold that is leaking. Follow it up to the hydraulic pump and get both sets of orings and or gaskets and replace them at voth the pump and transmission connection.
You will need to drain the transmission oil, and would be a good time to service filters and screens too. Wicked easy job.

Isn’t he saying “leaking at thr trans differential split”
That’s the back of the trans?
Requires a tractor split.
Not a hard job to do really.
But, I don’t understand why it wound leak there unless the whole joint was loose?
Or, the o ring surrounding the end of the high pressure tube blew out?

That generation Ford has an external hydraulic pump for all its internal hydraulics. The pump is run off the flywheel end of the engine on the righthand side and has an aluminum manifold type tube deal that runs to the lower right side / front of transmission/ clutch mounting area so when splitting for a clutch job it was easy to do.
That manifold is easy to damage if you forget to take the nuts/bolts out! But it is also easy to repair/replace also.
It is the only spot that has high pressure oil and could leak only when running at the transmission joints all the other points are on the top transmission cover that houses the rocker assembly for the 3 point hitch. And has all points related to aux. Hydraulics. Unless it has a front pump added for a loader setup of coarse.
