Local mower shop sent me a text. Said he had a vintage Sears mower. Told me to come get it for free.
Turns out to be a Sears G.T. 16 Twin built by Murray in 1978-1979. It is nasty, won't steer and pushes hard. I brought it home just to get the rear wheels off of it. They are a deep offset like a Wheel horse 520 rim, except they are narrower for a 22x7.50-12 tire. The flathead opposed twin would have been a good motor in its day, I may pull it off just to see if I can get it to run. It did come with one tire chain wrapped around the rear axle.

If you get something off of it, that's still a good score Rick! I bet you will find more parts than the rear wheels and engine to salvage from it. Sure can tell it never got to spend ant time in a garage or shed.

Once I cut the belt off the transaxle and motor it may move a lot easier. I think the belt is stuck on the pulleys. If the transaxle functions I may hang onto it and the hood/grill for another Frankenstein project. Would have been nice if it had two fenders.
