No wife but the SO sure helped out a big bunch. More when my left knee was replaced. That took a while to get back going again. Now, about 4 years later they have them walking out the hospital the same day. Carpel tunnel was easy going compared to the knee.

Ran into to town and bought seed potatoes onion sets and misc other seed for the garden got home and it was looking pretty dark to the NW junped on the PK and got 2 rows of sweet corn planted and used the Suburban to dig a furrow for the spuds got them sliced up and in the furrow covered them and as I finished covering the last potatoe it started with a few rain drops all the while it was thundering pretty good jumped on the tractor and headed for the house its was only 100 yards and by the time I got in the house I was pretty damp close to wet so that's it for planting for a couple of days

Thankfully we got the garden planted before that last bunch of rain. Thought for sure the spuds would spoil because of the cold wet weather but they are all up and going like crazy. Everything but the carrots. Hopefully they will show up.
Gary did you get the heat we had the last couple of days?

Been there before trying to get things planted looking at the clouds the same time. It's a good feeling though once in the house & watching the rain fall on a freshly planted garden. Glad your out & busy.

Our was to wet yet last evening and got a wetter this morning. going to be another couple days before it dries enough to work on getting it weeded. Can't use the power weeder next to the cabbage or lettuce as it throws the dirt onto the crop and hard to wash out, especially the cabbage. Going to try and put a couple shields on the sides so it don't throw it so much.

Hi Chris, yes we had a few hot days and the grass is growing but it not as green and lush as other years hoping I can get the tomatoes and cabbages in this afternoon and tomorrow some squash pumpkins the onions etc

Got most of the mowing done yesterday, till the diesel started acting up big time. Will try and get in the garden with the weeder this morning. Possibly the tiller on the bigger part later today. Couple days without rain forecast for a change.

Rains missed us again and not much hope for the next couple days. Going to water some things in the garden this morning. Then give the new strawberry plants a good drink again. Hasn't been real hot yet but the ground is still drying up so time to start watering. Most our plants have mulch around them to hold the moisture in. Ground up a big pile of limbs earlier this year and used part of that around the above ground plants.

Had rain again early this morning. Cleared off and sunshine this afternoon. Granddaughter & I went down to the garden to get some Mulberry's . She got a few but the strong burst of wind we had earlier put most on the ground. Be more there next week. Some of the second planting stuff is coming up - some isn't. Not planting again.
