My son has an old barn which he fixed up a bit and added to it last year. Clay floor in it. Last year we stored tractors in it. When it came time in the spring to get them out, the tires were in ice.
So we put rock dust in today to raise the floor up and maybe keep some of the water out, for this up coming storage season.
Truck put the rock dust in thru the door. So we had a pile in the center.
So we took the bulldozer in and leveled it out along with a rake and shovel. Once level, to our eye, we put the roller on it. Was getting dark, so had to turn on the headlights on the roller.
Rock dust is great stuff, gets as hard as can be, but still can work it, if you want to relevel. I don’t know what you members call , rock dust, in your area.

That will make a nice floor. How did the truck get it in? A conveyer? Looks like a fun afternoon.

Ya, Stone slinger they call it. Remote control conveyer belt. Guy stood inside the barn and used the remote to operate the conveyer. He’s real good at it. He does the driveway too when we get it done.

Yes, once it’s dry and packed, it’s hard. Out on the driveway if it rains, it stays hard. It never goes soft again. But if need be, you can work it to level it.

We put it over a part in the driveway that was all ways a soup hole of mud in the spring. The rock dust was put on about 4 to 5 inches thick. Never had any mud since. That was about 8 years ago.

Thats what I need, a set of drag harrows. They would be perfect for doin the driveway. Looks good Poncho.

Nice job on leveling. Only thing I would ad is get a electric or gas plate packer and it will pack down a lot harder. Did my drive 18 years ago with 3/8" limestone rock with fines, packed it with a gas packer and never touched it since. The rock with the fines don't last long on the road though.
