When I was a kid, every boy wanted to be a cowboy and every farm kid had a pony. Now, the only ones riding horses are girls. They treat them like a big boyfriend. What happened?

Folks don't need to watch Rin Tin Tin or Lassie to want a dog. Granted horses are a lot more work, but that doesn't keep girls from riding them. Maybe guys should be taking their sons to rodeos instead of volley ball or dance lessons.

Well, of course, Texas and points west is a whole different ball game. Don't they teach rodeo in junior high? When I was in grade school I was always nagging my folks for a pony. I still nag my wife.

Never saw it, never will. Enough said.
Told the kids when they were growing up, NO horses. You can never turn them off. ATV's fine. No horses. The wife grew up on a farm and thankfully she does not like horses either so the kids didn't stand a chance.

My horses are better guard dogs then the dogs. I had the pony run someone up on top of their car before.

I'm lovin' my little horses, but then I always was "horse crazy". At least I was smart enough when I got these that they are miniatures, not regular sized ones. If they were big enough to ride, I'd ride them, then I'd probably figure I could still stay on if we did a little jumping like I used to like to do, and we'd try that too, and I'd end up on the ground under one of them and that'd be the end of me. Probably not the worst way in the world to go, but I'm not ready yet!

Only downside to horses is the vet bills , farrier bills , feed and hay bills. But they are fun to own and got more of a personality then any other animal.
