How do you test this coil ?

Or can it be tested. Out of a 8 hp flat head Briggs engine.
Engine runs good for a while, the acts up, then quits. It restarts normally, but today it would not. No spark.
So I may have a used one here, but would to test it before I put it in.
But I am thinking to just get a new one and be done with it.
Tractor deserves a new part.

The plug wire to the ground by the laminations should be 4-10 K ohms. If it has the electronic trigger you can't ohm ck the primary side.

Give it a blank piece of paper, a sharpened #2 pencil, and set a timer.

So, I got a used coil from the guy I deal with for small engine parts. Put it on the MF7 today and shes back to working like it should.
