How to remove a broken . . .

Good ideas. Unfortunately I can't ever remember breaking a bolt off far enough down in the hole to use a threaded guide. Seems like the bolts break off just above or one thread below the surface. I must be an unlucky grease monkey. :(

You and me both....Those videos make it look so easy. A steel bolt broken off in aluminum is going to be corroded in there solid......And, its hardly ever in a spot thats easy to get at. The centering jig thingy is pretty cool though.

Someone else posted these. It's a crock imo. Those little guides are expensive. Every bolt I've broken off is flush with the outside. A welder and a nut is your best bet if you cant center punch it, drill with left hand bits and use an extractor.

The washer first works good too. I weld the center of the washer than around the outside of the nut to the washer.

I guess I'm used to working with bolts around 5/8 and above. If you have a mig it's even easier...at least for me. I'm not the best stick welder.
