I asked on here a couple of years ago if anyone had ever seen an extender for the oil fill for large cast Briggs engines. Got a bunch of nope. Let me explain my problem. I have a Alice Chalmers B112. The oil filler is inside a small hole in the body panels. My fingers will barely fit in that hole and I don't have enough grip to loosen the oil filler plug. I have been using a stick trimmed down to just fit between the ears on the plug. It works fine until the plug falls off the stick. When this happens it rolls under the the engine which on the Allis has a plate under it. It is just about impossible to retrieve the cap.

Well, I finally found the Briggs Oil Extender I had seen a picture of 5 years ago. ( Pictures Below ) You get an adapter that goes from Oil Filler thread to 1/2" pipe, a 2" Nipple and a Cap with a seal and dipstick. The instructions say to use epoxy to glue the parts in place except the cap obviously. I did not want to do that as I want to be able to remove the extender if the need ever arises. Before I installed the extender I did an oil change and filled the tractor to the top of the filler. I wanted to make sure the dipstick read full after I installed the extender. I used Loctite to glue the 2" riser to the adapter. I then placed an O ring on the adapter and screwed that to the engine, The O ring seals it just fine and keeps it from backing out. The cap seal works fine. I put it in hand tight and gave it a 1/8 turn with a wrench. I then checked the oil level with the dip stick, It was exactly on the full mark. Then I went for a mow...20210625_190149.jpg20210625_190253.jpg20210625_190358.jpg20210627_173456.jpg20210627_173446.jpg

The last 2 pictures below are after I had finished mowing a 5 acre field. It was 93 humid and sunny, ground was dry and dusty, so please excuse the filthy tractor. No leaks as you can see. I figured that was a good shake down cruse. Boy I am happy I found one of these...Finally.
