Since I sold the Craftsman GT5000 last spring I decided to install a 40" Agri-fab snowblower on a Husqvana YTH 1542, since this tractor only ever had a deck on it I had to round up the mounting parts needed, dug thru the misc box's and storage containers, came up with a set of the front blower mts had to drill a couple of extra holes to get them installed, then I needed the shoulder bolts and small mounting tabs for the transmission, shoulder bolts were no problem was trying to figure out what to do for the forward mt tabs when I found another box of leaft over/spare part and it had a set of new tabs so got all parts installed and the transmission installed tried the electric PTO every time I pulled it on the engine would stop finally the light came on sit on the seat guy and all was good so installed a jumper wire for the seat switch, (a seat switch is ok when mowing but when its zero outside and you need to get off to check something its a PITA). Then when checking I noticed the ammeter was discharging at all R's so I checked at the battery 12.24 Volts not good tested the stator output 26+ volts so it had to be the rectifier/voltage reg, I don't have a spare Kawasaki regulator so got a Kohler one used a could of jumper wired and got it connect started the engine and 13+ amps so I removed the Kawi regulator went to the wire wheel and cleaned up the contact mounts connected the harnes and a ground wire to the batter and again 13+ amps so reinstalled it and its working good must have lst ground contact

I see winter is arriving around the great lakes. Any snow predicted for your place yet, GB?
The northern 1/3 of the state had a few inches this past week, around here we have had none did dip down to 16*F last night suppose to be in the 60 Thursday Friday and the week end we'll see. Hopefully we will not get any plowable snow for another 4 to 6 weeks

Installing the blower now should get you the 4-6 weeks. ;) Our lows are running in the 40's right now.

Sounds like the blower install is going pretty smooth. Are the tractors fairly similar in design? Will you be able to run the same belts?

Yes same belts the mounts vary from different models and years, AYP built the Husqvarnas and many craftsman models so the snowblowers are all basically Agrr-Fab made little to no difference in the blower units, the transmission main difference is if they are set up for manual or eclectic PTO and its simple to change that

The installation of the snowblower is completed, test run (with no snow) indicates its good to go, I'm hoping I won't find out if its any good. of course I wish that every fall and it never works out that way. I've been looking for a snow cab and am not finding anything in my price range, makes me wish I had not included the one with the GT500 last spring

I think I see a new build project in your future, GB. Now that its mounted up and working you should get a few weeks at least with no snow. ;) It was 39*F here this morning and supposed to be colder overnight lows for the next couple days with precip in the forecast. I thinking I will mount up my blower around the end of the month.
