I have a second Husqvarnar with a 40" snonblower on it don't have a cab for this tractor been sitting in the back all winter so yesterday I tried to start it and it start after some cranking (no heat in the storage area) ran it out and blew some snow that was in front of the door and it blew nic and I got the area cleaned up and drove the F-250 in the out od the weather, and ran the Husky around to the front shop. This morning thought I'd try it a little more ran it out and blew some its really nice for visibility not having a cab on but its the pits when you turn into the wind, found out I need more wt on the tractor I have a 25 lb wt on the draw bar but no wheel wts and it needs them it was hard going in the deeper snow it wanted to just sit and spin other wise it blew snow great

Tires loaded ? Add another 100 lbs to the drawbar. Lower the tire pressure a few lbs.
What size tires on it Gary.

No ballast in the tires I was thinking about doing that maybe when its warmer like in April rear tires are 20X 10X 8, every thing is pretty much the same as the Husky I have out here at my house except this one has a cab and wheel wts and 2 link chains one at the shop has 4 link chains

When I went in this afternoon I got the Power King with the Case snowcaster out boy that snowcaster is a snow blowing devil in places where it had drifted and has sat of a few days it was 2.5' deep had to shift the PK down to 1 & 1 but it crept thru really slow but it just kept moving just at the end the blower raised up on a frozen drift or plow ridge and then came down near vertical clogged it up good belt was squealing disengaged the PTO and went around to the shop got an old broom stick out and got the snow out of the auger and then the blower paddles, tried the PTO and away went a bunch of snow so I think all is ok will find out tomorrow have just a little to go

Maybe that’s the one to take to the house Gary.

You must be reading my mind Noel I've been thinking about finding another 48" snowcaster and putting it on one of the other PK's I have, I do have a Haban 44" that I fabricated a hitch for a few years ago could work on fabricating a mule drive for it (I have it self powered now)

It worked but it had belt issues its been a couple 3 years since I worked it so I'm not sure I got it all worked out I see I did put 10 hrs usage on it one thing about it being self powered you can throttle the tractor back as needed

Yes. For ground speed. But keep rpm’s up on the snowblower. Depending on snow conditions. That would work too Gary.

When it gets to the point that I can't turn my neck I'm going to self power the 3 point blower on the JD. Set it up to use the quick attach for the loader bucket. Sure would make using the blower a lot easier.

Have you checked into a soft cab for one of the PK's?

Case, Kubota and someone else used that same snow caster. I think they were made in Canada but I can't remember the name of the company.
Just yesterday I contacted Original Tractor Cab and asked if they had anything that would work on the Power king have not heard back yet

This morning I got the PK out to finish up the little area in the back of the shop and got it done it was slow going as after testerdays thawing and then freezing over night it like 30% frozen, then on the way back to the shop I noticed the blower wouldn't lift and when I shut the PTO off the blower kept on running, tried lowering the blower and it stopped backed into the shop and took a closer look the RH pivot bolt had came out so when trying to lift the blower it just pivoted to the right putting tension on the belt. So I went out to the last pass and sure enough I found the pivot blot and washer little further found the large bushing and then the small bushing and then a bit further the washer and nut, I am feeling a bit lucky to have them this afternoon I'll install them using a new bolt and lock nut. I'm thing this spring when I remove the blower I'll change them to bolts with castle nuts and a cotter key
