A good friend of mine (Larry) used to farm near Mishawaka Indiana. When the State put a new highway through his farm he relocated to West Central Indiana not far from us. He recently found this lawn tractor. The only identifying marks on it was the serial tag. It said model; vm100 157006 ser; 6083d. 1076 Made by Heilman Enterprises, Mishawaka In. He doesn't remember it. but Because it was made in his hometown he bought it. I took some pictures and started searching the internet for him. Turns out that he bought a LAWN ROV'R. His is a model 1076 with a 10 h.p. Tecumseh. It had a Haban snowblower with it. If my information is correct they made it from 1971-1989. They made five different models: 876 877 1076 1177 1178. The steering components look exactly the same as some Wheel Horse units. If they weren't replaced at some time perhaps they were originally outsourced from Wheel Horse? The last pictures are from the internet and show what this unit should look like.
If anyone has any further information Larry would appreciate it. Rick

If the motor is bad I have the 10hp Tecumseh that wouldn't fit in the JD100.

That blower looks Sears/Roper-ish

Yeah it does. But Sears rebranded a lot of stuff. The serial # came up as Haban. Rick
(By the way I finally remembered I was supposed to give you some manuals. I saw them in the cabinet a while back and wondered why I still had them!!!)

yeah I need to get down there, for sure. Do you ever hear from Frank ("coinman" from other forum, lives out your way) any more?

Have a lawn rov'r 8 hp with a 36 inch deck..the motor is a tecumseh. Looking for deck drive belt size and drive belt size..the drive belt I have in there is an L3 71 inch or 3/8 x 71 looks a bit tiny..the deck drive had no belt but it is shaft driven and runs through a clutch pulley to the deck pulley..measure with a clothing tape came about around 43 or 44 inches sloppy measurement the pulley is close to an inch deep at the center and tapers outward toward the end. Wondering what size belt to use..if these were old wheel horse mix and match design maybe the belt size is the same..I attached some photos..

You wouldnt by ang chance have the belt sizes for this model. I posted my Lawn Rov'r model here as well. Its an 8hp tecumseh 40p custom 400. Its year 1973 i believe. I need the belt sizes for a 36 inch deck and drive belt size. My pulleys are also tapered and i cannot get a fix on the size. Tried a couple sizes but all the belts appear too tight and not holding together.

Thanks
