Let it snow........

I have been picking away at building a snow blade for my pickup. The theory is almost every pickup around has a hitch receiver on it. The plowblade pins into the receiver so it only needs one pin to put on or take off. The plan is to use a winch to raise and lower it.

So far, I have about $200 CDN into it because I used a lot of material from inventory.

Time will tell if it works or not. Hope so, I'm tired of snowplowing with open station equipment.

Nice job...
I seen receivers mounted on front for plows too.
How much plowing do you do.? And you're right, the warmer the better..

I have seen the front receivers too. If the blade works well, I may invest the 150$ or so to buy one.

I only do my own yard and once in a while a neighbors drive. I do clear off a lot of my yard though. It typically takes a couple hours to do my yard with a six foot rear blade on a tractor.

Be interesting to hear how it works. Unless you have a backup camera one suggestion is to take your tailgate off when plowing so you can see better.
