Had to weld up an agitator for the corn/pellet stove. Not much to it and have made several so goes quick. Last weld and the wire quit feeding. Popped the cover, spool was OK and wire not hung up. Power wheel was turning but the other wasn't. Done welding for today so another project for warmer weather. Welding in cold weather is the pits. Helmet keeps fogging over, anti splatter so cold it would not spray. Fingers get cold fast trying to hold two pieces in position in the vise with one hand and close it with the other. Got it done so when the one in use gives out I have a replacement. I can built them for a couple bucks each. Takes about 15" of 1/2" round bar, cut off 5 - 1" pieces, cup the ends a bit and weld them to the bar on the side. Nothing fancy or precise. Only turns about 1/8 turn at a time and then real slow about ever 6-8 seconds it rotates a bit. Just enough to keep the fuel in the pot stirred up to burn good.
