I have some rounds I need to split for camp fire so I went to HF and got their electric splitter, I just cannot do it with an ax anymore. Now I need a little cooler weather.
Noel uses one a lot. I’ve been considering one myself. I only burn wood in my shop so having a larger gas powered splitter for me wouldn’t be practical. Also it would be something else to maintain and store. My only problem is they are so noisy.
I got out yesterday and split the ash it mostly split good except 2 rounds, one I had to cut a start with my chainsaw the other one I just had to find the right spot where it was splitting. That ash had been dead for about 12 years and it finally rotted enough at the ground that the wind blew it over this spring.
