long-term storage

Hi, I'm clearing out my garage and would like to store a few garden tractors for a few years.
One of the issues is the climate in Ontario. Cold winters, hot summers - dry spells or high humidity.

I'm hoping to use or build small crates that each can hold a single tractor.

Good advice. Thanks.

I picked up a moto-mower that was stored under a deck. The humidity rotted through almost every part of the tractor. I don't want to do this to mine.

During my research, I read someone's post (for a farm tractor) who suggested making a list of things to do before returning to service.
(oils to change, repairs needed, etc.)

I have a few non runners that have been stored. My best method of preventing mice is to spread moth balls around and stuff dryer sheets in crevices mostly around the engine shroud. I would suggest a good vapor barrier on the ground too.

Biggest issue is trapped moisture. I store vehicle in portable garage with vapour barrier on floor to prevent ground moisture rising during any season
You may be able to salvage ski doo crates from dealer or just build crates with pallets
