Always try to fix before buying. And don’t have the money for new. And it seems all my tractors have loose tie rod ends. So some sort of repair would be good to know.

Cut a slot in a washer, slide it over the small post on the ball then weld the washer to the end which holds the ball in. Running my Sears like that now. Just gotta be careful not to gt it to tight, may have to put a slight bend in the washer to make it a little oval shaped.

I've gotten new ones from McMaster Carr for like $7 each..... They have these in left and right hand thread, fine and coarse, greasable, stainless,. Heim joint style and more. And it cost me as much to have 8 of them shipped as it would cost to get 1 shipped.
They are just over an hour away from me but in the wrong direction to be able to just stop by and pick it up, would be 2 hours from work. And by the time I get off of work I couldn't make it there in time. Have to stop by sometime when I'm off of work for "other reasons". I do like dealing with them a whole lot better than I do Grainger, who also has locations not that far from me.

That's how I've had to fix a couple of mine.

I have used this method for several years. Little grease on the ball first. Then use it but don't abuse. Sometimes that is a real thin line.

Really? You can't afford a new tie rod end?
What if your Honey Bo has to get on the tractor and drive it off your barely breathing chest and she can't steer it?
