Looking for help with model # and year produced on Bolens walk behind

I'm new to the forum but have done a little research regarding a bolens walk behind we recently purchased. (With not great results)
I can not find a model # on it, but did find one bolens tag with the # 16216 01 on it. I didn't have any luck finding anything related to that.

I am attaching a few pics of what we have. If there is anyone that could provide any relevant information on it we would greatly appreciate it.

It's a bolens versa matic, late 1950s, there is probably a site you can date code the Kohler engine, the switch on the shroud was added on. Just watch the rims alot of those old walk behinds had the tires filled with nasty liquid that rots the rims. Nice bonus you got the rare and elusive belt guard attached
 
Thanks for the info. We just picked it up last night. The guy I purchased it from said he has been using it for the last 10 years.. started it up today and had gas pouring out of carb when running, so I know I have an issue there to fix. Hence why trying to find as much info as possible on it.
 
on the Ride-A-Matic tractors '56 was the last year of that filter going thru the hood

and '57 was the last year of the three bar grill
 
You should be able to Google/you tube info rebuild the carb, check the fuel lines too. Don't buy one of those 9 dollar Chinese carbs. Rebuilding an original one is easy enough.
